Black holes are actually safe in Elite Dangerous. They are just annoying because you can easily fly into the black hole.

In this game do any of the black holes have acretion discs (I can’t spell)

but isn't it kinda unrealistic that the ship doesn't get heat damage from the black hole? since a black hole has so much mass in such little space it must radiate a lot of heat

Late to the party here. You need to carry an AFMU or two for repairing your jump engine, which will decrease your jump range. It gets damaged every jump and eventually it will be beyond repair. I took the neutron highway to Jaques Station first time years ago. By the time I found a fuel scoopable star and repaired using the AFMU I could have jumped 2 times and faster than the neutron highway. I never use that mode of transport at all more trouble that it is worth and I have jumped thousands of times without incident all the way to the rim and back. It is a good skill to know if you find yourself in trouble. I will reiterate AFMU AFMU.

I don't get it. the game tells you, literally with sound, that the fsd boost is done, why do you need something else to tell you that by talking over the game as it's trying to tell you?

This is my first time seeing one of your videos. I'm a relatively new player, I've only been playing for a month, but I love how you use voice commands for some of the controls. As a VR player with a flight stick that would be very helpful for my play style.

large distances are much easier done in a smaller ship like the krait phantom or Diamond Explorer, because they turn much faster in super cruise.

For the neutron highway, only use the star if its the primary star. You travelling 1000+ls in a system will be slower than just jumping.

Nice to see a game accurately portraying a blackhole. Blackholes aren't like how they're depicted in the media. They're basically invisible and all you'll see is the light distortion. Edit: Also realistically, if you're traveling faster than light to warp out, nothing would happen to you since you warped through the black hole.

What I wish you could do with the black holes is use em as jump points like you can with the pulsars

the thing about black holes in elite is that you should normally be able to easily escape one, considering you can go way faster than light

2022 and just finding out about this game. I can tell why they call it a "sim". As far as shipments go it's really close to my truck driving job from some of the videos I've seen.

I kinda miss the pre-FSS days where you had to approach stuff to identify it. I just came back to ED after about 6 years and now you can identify everything in a system in a matter of seconds using your honk-o-scope.

It does suck that I can get 3 million cr for a single planetary scanning mission but you only got 150,000 cr for being a badass. What a shame, this game needs to fix it's priorities :P And to be clear, I'm not saying I should get less, you should get more :D

Coming back to these now and I'm still quite green. So what exactly does a supercharged jump change from a regular jump? Do they allow you to make jumps to far more distant points, or just use up far less fuel to get to the same point?
